Knitting & Crochet

I haven’t posted anything knitted or likes for ages. Well… that’s because I haven’t had the time to do anything concrete. Just one simple soft drawstring pouch here which I have no idea whatever for. But I’m proud to say that everything is knitted right down to the drawstring which was made using the I-cord method.

Pattern wise was taken out of a book I borrowed from the community library some time back.

Just completed the finishing touches and added in a button for aesthetic purpose.
I didn’t count the number of stitches and rows, purely intuitive – so, no knitting pattern for this.
Thankfully, the disparity was minute.

I’ve been multitasking.
Juggling my brains and hands with half-cooked ideas, which I’m so so excited about.

Salmon-coloured polka dotted cloth to make a puff-skirt.
(Look at next picture for the true colour)

Knitting – in – process. For my laptop sleeve.
I’d wanted it to be a tote bag. But I casted on too little!

Murakami’s Underground.
I’ve to admit that it was all the hype which got me intrigued and subsequently purchasing it.
I’ve decided to start off with Underground because you can’t go wrong with non-fiction.
Anything non-fiction is sure to fly off the shelves like pancakes!
After all, people are pervasively Kaypoh by nature.

Plus, getting near-daily luncheons prepared by cozzie.
I’m not complaining.

Strange, but I’ve never tried the cable casting-on method before. Today, I did just that but I still very much prefer the thumb cast-on method even though the cable cast-on is supposed to give a firmer and neater edge.
Using the Make One pattern, I came up with a tiny pouch, which I feel is rather suitable for my Ipod.

Here’s the pattern:

Cast on 11 sts using the cable cast-on method.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: K3,  make one (m1), slip one,  knit one, pass the slipped stitch over (skpo), k1, m1, skpo, k3
Row 4: Purl

Repeat Row 3 and 4 till desired length.
Bind (cast) off.
Sew the two edges together.

I’ve a very smart cousin. Her name is D. When her precious NDS needs a pouch, she turned to her cousin (good old ME) and demanded for a knitted one.

I used the Slip Stitch Purlwise for the pattern because it will create a thicker pattern which I thought would be good to protect the NDS against D and her clumsy ways. I’m happy that there weren’t any wonky stitches.

I’m very very domesticated!

The pattern:

Using 4.5mm needles, CO 21 sts.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2:  K1, [ slip 1  purlwise, K1] Repeat till end of the row

Repeat Row 1 and 2 until desired length.
Sew up the side seams.
Sew a button.

For the button-strap, I change to the 3.5mm needles.
CO 30 sts. Bind off.
