Clay & Pottery

Finally. They are fired and glazed and ready to use.
All done using the wheel-thrown technique, with of course a little trimming here and there.
The cup with the matt black glaze is for the Cozzie while the crackled green one is for Lifah. I have to airmail it to her though.
I also made 2 pots, of which, 1 I gave to The Mother because she said she really liked it (she’s back in Japan with it, so no pictures). The other one with the egg-shell and black brown glaze is the one in the picture. I did the asymmetrical sides on purpose, therefore it’s not meant to be round.

I wheel-thrown some bowls yesterday.. so expect pictures of bowls next.

After countless futile attempts at wheel-throwing, “YATTA!”, I finally managed to throw 5 objects, which I trimmed into 2 mugs and 3 pots yesterday. These Clay have to be fired once before I could glaze them, so… photos of end-products after glazing then.

And oh… I’m SO excited about these two books which I bought from Kinokuniya yesterday. One was to guide me in my knitting endeavour and the other simply because I couldn’t resist the pretty pictures, EVEN THOUGH I CAN’T READ A SINGLE WORD OF JAPANESE. Ha.. I’ll ask my mum to translate them when she comes back for CNY.
