These were not bad at all. Donna Hay’s recipe from Simple Essentials.
Everyone must be wondering why yet again - Donna Hay. I have Gordon Ramsay too, just that his is rather advanced for random bakers like the Cozzie and me.
Tonight’s baking was impromptu, fuss-free, spongy and yummy – all wiped out within a span of 5minutes by the aunts, uncles and cousins.

We tried out 2 Donna Hay’s recipe today. Along the way, we did some improvisation.

Tonight was baking night for potluck Sunday.

The old trustworthy Kenwood still did its job well and good. But I really want a KitchenAid mixer.

Butter, sugar, eggs, flour and cocoa powder.

I’m not too sure if Kueh Makmur is one of the Chinese New Year goodies or not. But we (ok not we, just lifah) made it anyway. I got home at exactly the right time to take some photos and steal the recipe.

Here’s the stolen recipe from Lifah:
Ingredients
2 eggs
1kg plain flour
Salt (just a pinch)
1 4/5 butter (3 stars block butter is strongly recommended)
$2 worth of peanut (those obtainable from market)
Caster Sugar
1. Knead 2 eggs, 1 kg plain flour, 1 4/5 butter and a pinch of salt, to make the dough
2. Fry the peanuts, remove skin totally and blend coarsely in a blender. Add fine caster
sugar. This is for the peanut stuffing.
3. Roll some dough into a ball and flatten it. Add some peanut stuffing and wrap it tight.
4. Make into the shape in the pictures and use a shape object to make the patterns on it.
5. Bake them in the microwave for 25 minutes at 180 to 190 degree celsius.
6. Leave the Kueh Makmur to cool, then sprinkle some icing sugar.
7. EAT!
